I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be streamed live on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to promote the upcoming boxing match.
Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of such comments, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.
Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
Still, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's biggest financial successes, regularly earning massive paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.
Size Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
